Introduction

In this blog about competitive cheerleading, you will find many interesting facts about the sport. The three main topics I focus on talking about are stunts, competitions, and physical and mental abilities. I would say that these are the three main parts of competitive cheerleading. Competitions being the most important because that’s what every cheerleader is working towards. The About Me section of my blog introduces myself and my journey with rec and competitive cheerleading.
In the tab labeled stunts, I describe different kinds of stunts that different levels of competitive cheerleaders do during their routines. I also describe all of the positions needed for a stunt and their purposes. The sources I added to each post only help describe the stunts even more. By adding pictures and videos, you can understand more clearly what it takes to execute each stunt. I start the stunts tab talking about lower level stunting and basic information cheerleaders have to learn before beginning to stunt. I then move on to what kinds of stunts each level are allowed to do. The last post talks about the highest level of cheerleading available at the gym I used to cheer at and how difficult the stunts are that they do.
Competitions are what competitive cheerleaders work for through all of their practices. In this tab I went through my day at a competition. I start with getting ready for the competition, our uniform, makeup, and bows. Then I talk about warming up our minds and bodies. Finally, I talk about actually competing on the stage in front of thousands of people. I incorporate emotions and details throughout these posts to give it more feeling. I also talk about the awards ceremony that is held at the end of every competition and how nerve racking it is. For one of my sources I used a video so you can see an entire competition performance.
The last tab in my blog is titled physical and mental ability. The posts in this tab are very important and can help a current competitive cheerleader with her competition skills. I stress the importance of physical strength and endurance. These help competitive cheerleaders in all the skills they perform. I then talked about the mental factors of competitive cheerleading. The sources I used to help further describe my posts can be very helpful for current cheerleaders. They are based on helping cheerleaders get rid of mental blocks and keeping their mind in focus so they can perform their best.
