My name is Megaan Windeknecht and I am a freshman at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  I have been an allstar cheerleader for the past 5 years of my life.  I cheered at the International Sports Center for Charlotte Allstars.  I was on four different teams throughout the time I was a cheerleader at that gym.  Before I was a competitive cheerleader I cheered for rec football and basketball teams for Porter Ridge Athletic Association.  This is where my love for cheerleading began.  I auditioned for the middle school cheerleading squad but didn’t make it.  This is how I found out about competitive cheerleading.  I got together with a few of my friends and we went to the gym to try it out and I loved it.  I wanted to start immediately but my parents said I needed to wait until the next season.  Joining Charlotte Allstars was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
